Hard disk crash when the hard disk drive breaks down and the data on hard disk can not be accessed. It may be caused due to variety of reasons.

Why Your Hard Disk is Crashed

Here are the some reasons of hard disk crash:

1. Virus

Some time viruses in the computers allowed crashing the hard disk drive. Because main purpose in design of virus is to infect or damage the data. The virus affects the operating system that will make impossible to read the file which are necessary to run the computer. You can avoid it by installing virus checker software and update it regularly.

2. Software

Sometime bad or faulty installed software may cause crash of hard drive. This problem can be solved by uninstalling or reinstalling the software. To remove the application of software completely from your system try to use the Norton uninstall or Uninstall shield. It will help to remove the programmed references in the system registry and make your computer fresh.

3. Overheating

There are integrated fans in the Central Processing Unit (CPU) which keeps them cool. If the computer is become old or fans are fail to produced cooling then system will start to overheat and generated a particular error which is known as kernel error. And this is very common problem in the system which dose not allows the system to operate at as high speed as it is supposed to do. One can get rid from this problem by installing big cooling fan near CPU.

4. Problem in power supply

The problem in power supply may cause hard drive crash. When power cut it easily crash hard disk drive. If your data is critical it is good investment because when power will cut it will not lost your unsaved data.

5. Corrupted files

Sometime so many processes can corrupt your file like installing new program can corrupt your existing file, closing programmed with mean other than existing command, sometimes you shut down computer when some files are opened it will cause file corrupt which leads to corrupt system. To avoid this regularly run window scandisk.

The user must anticipate the failure of hard drive if it produce sounds while start up. User must have to keep all his data in backup drive like USB or CDs.

7. Vibration

Hard driver’s construction is very sensitive. On the platters head of driver are float. If hard driver feels large amount of vibration then it may cause crash of hard disk. You can avoid this by keeping your computer away from any kind of vibration.

8. Printer

Printer has very small memory which is called buffer and can easily overloaded. When you take print out of some document it takes some power from CPU. Sometimes it’s slow down the computer. Sometimes printer prints some unusual characters which can’t recognize and can crash the system. The best way is to avoid this problem is to unplug the printer.
