Layout of the home screen is almost identical to that of the previous one, except two icons that have been added; Contacts (direct access to phonebook) and App Store (opens iTunes App store). Touch screen, accelerometer and similar feature s are same as were in iPhone.

Controls have been painted silver instead of black, with slight changes in their location. Still, the battery is not user-replaceable. It comes packed with syncing cable, a display cleaning cloth, a headset, user documentation, a SIM removal tool, and an electrical outlet plug.

MobileMe  is supported by iPhone 3G; it is a new service that syncs with Mac’s Mail, Address Book, and iCal apps like calendar appointments, e-mail messages, photos, and browser bookmarks. Synchronization of personal and work calendars is a plus point. Search for the application in the Apps store through name and category, or via Featured and Top 25 apps. This phone utilizes Assisted GPS supplemented by satellites, which is a means to provide better pinpoint location. Remote Wipe is a nice feature that erases the data in case of an unfortunate theft.

Unique Selling Points:

  • Great new features
  • 3G support
  • 3rd party apps
  • Expanded email
  • Enhanced call quality
  • Excellent multimedia experience

Limitations:

  • No MMS, stereo Bluetooth, or video recording
  • No physical QWERTY keyboard
  • No external memory option
  • Mere 2 mp camera
  • Uneven battery life

So, this is all about the iPhone 3G, the killer phone by Apple. It is said that no phone has still come up to the level of iPhone as it has the greatest apps store plus a unique style which has become the hallmark of Apple.
